Thomas Jefferson Said It Best

"No experiment can be more interesting than that we are now trying, and which we trust will end in establishing the fact, that man may be governed by reason and truth. Our first object should therefore be, to leave open to him all the avenues to truth. The most effectual hitherto found, is the freedom of the press. It is, therefore, the first shut up by those who fear the investigation of their actions." --Thomas Jefferson to John Tyler, 1804. ME 11:33

digitalBURG.com's mission is to give area residents a reason to find out more about their town. As people become more informed about the opportunities surrounding them, they also learn more about the issues that surround us as we delegate more and more of our personal responsibility to various levels of government.

The definition of "press" has changed forever with the advent of the internet. digitalBURG.com hopes to be at the front edge of providing local news in an age when successively more of our news comes from only a few large sources. This burden becomes too heavy when trying to include printing equipment, newsprint and distribution. digitalBURG.com stands as a new business model for the press, designed to harness the power of the internet while delivering superior local news.
