1. What is your career background?
After attending college, I became the secretary to Dean Alice Gower, Dean of Women at Central Missouri State University. In 1974, I accepted a position as secretary to the owner of Feldman's Town and Country in Odessa, Missouri. In 1979, I became an employee of Johnson County as Chief Deputy Auditor to Auditor Gary Bozarth (Johnson County's first Auditor). I held this position until April, 1987. Following this, I worked as a secretary for Appraisal Services prior to being recruited in 1989 by Johnson County Sheriff Charles Norman to become his Administrative Officer.
In 1990, I ran for and was elected as the Johnson County Auditor, a position that I hold to this date. I have faithfully served the citizens of Johnson County for the past 26 years, and I have served as the Johnson County Auditor with dedication, integrity, and honesty for the last 16 years.
2. What community activities are you involved in? Have you held leadership positions?
I am a member of the Warrensburg Sunrise Optimist and was a past Secretary/Treasurer of this organization. I have membership in the Johnson County Cattlemen's Association, the Johnson County Democrat Club, the National Wild Turkey Federation Women of the Outdoors, and the Missouri Farm Bureau. I am the Secretary/Treasurer of the Centerview Recreation Program, past member of the Johnson County R-VII School Board, and past member of the Missouri Consolidated Health Care Board of Trustees (appointed by Governor Mel Carnahan).
I am a member of the Missouri Association of County Auditor's and have held the positions of President and Secretary/Treasurer of this organization.
3. What is your educational background?

1990 -- Elected Johnson County Auditor
1994 -- Re-Elected Johnson County Auditor
1998 -- Re-Elected Johnson County Auditor
2002 -- Re-Elected Johnson County Auditor
5. How many years have you lived in Johnson County? What town?
I am a lifelong, fifth generation, resident of Johnson County. I have lived in the Centerview area all of my life and I am the daughter of J. Gilbert and Opal Colster, the granddaughter of John Tony (Jack) and Mary Ellen (Ella) Colster. Johnson County is my home. I am proud to support and serve its citizens with love, respect, integrity and most of all, honor.
6. What makes Warrensburg work?
Warrensburg is a growing community consisting of commerce, agri-business, university, military and retired persons. These contrasting groups melt together in a spirit of cooperation that makes our community a uniquely vibrant place to live and work.
7. What does Warrensburg need?
Warrensburg is blessed with many intelligent, talented and honest citizens that need to be encouraged to step forward and accept positions of leadership in our city and county government. People of courage, integrity and honor that will put aside personnel agenda's and oversee the infrastructure and services of our community as well as the welfare of our citizens.
8. What can you do for Warrensburg? How will you get this done for Warrensburg?
I can and will continue to serve the citizens of this community, as your county auditor, with dedication, integrity and honesty. I will continue to conduct the affairs of my office as outlined by the state statutes.
9. Do you have pets? What are their names?
I love pets, but I realize that they require considerable attention and care. I would like to be a responsible pet owner, but as your full time county auditor, I do not have the time to adequately care for one.
Having served as your county auditor for the past 16 years makes me uniquely qualified to continue in this capacity. I know what is behind many of the past financial issues that have occurred in our county and have designed and implemented the current methods and processes that are in place to monitor the county's financial affairs. I have and will continue to work with all county office holders, in a spirit of cooperation, to improve our county government.
Every county office holder is accountable only to the citizens and the state statutes that outline how each officer holder conducts business. Through the years I have become a student of these statutes and am known as the go to person when questions arise regarding the statutorial process of county issues.
I ask for your vote as I seek re-election as your county auditor and pledge to continue my service to the citizens with enthusiasm and integrity.
