Golfing Mules finish second at Heart of America Classic

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Central Missouri Mules golf squad took second on Tuesday as they hosted the Heart of America Classic at Keth Memorial Golf Course. They carded a 576 while the Ichabods of Washburn edged them by three strokes to take the title.
The Mules trailed by one stroke coming into the final round but WU shot a one-over 285 while UCM put up a 287. The next closest team was Missouri Southern in third and they finished 21 strokes behind the Mules.
Individually, Justin Yoder and Ty Needles each shot one-over with a two-round total of 143. They tied for second place while Jon Wrast finished in a tie for seventh. Yoder tied for the best round of the week with a 69 (-2) on Tuesday.
The Mules head to Missouri Western next week for another MIAA sanctioned tournament on March 31-April 1.
