Mules wrestling announces award winners

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Central Missouri Mules wrestling team presented its 2007-08 Team Awards at the team's recent banquet.

The list of award winners is as follows:
Most Valuable - Jeremy Hudson (Sr., 184 pounds)
Most Improved (Three way tie) - Byron Clark (So., 125 pounds), Cody Gillenwater (R-Fr., 141 pounds) and Marcus Walker (Fr., 133 pounds)
Rookie of the Year - Cody Beck (Fr., Heavyweight)
Most Dedicated - Cory Bloodgood (So., 141 pounds)
Mat Rat - Jesse Whitson (R-So., 141 pounds)
Most Courageous - Kenzie McClain (Fr., 149 pounds)

The Mules also recognized their five members who were named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association All-Academic Team. First-Team honors went to Travis Barbarick, Cory Bloodgood and Caleb Hulse. Honorable Mention accolades went to Matt Bailes and Adam West.

The team was also recognized for finishing fifth in the NWCA All-Academic team rankings with a 3.236 grade point average, just .001 away from tying for fourth.

Jeremy Hudson also received his All-American plaque for finishing eighth at this years NCAA-II National Championship.
