4 hurt in Route 13 accident; driver faces 5 charges, including DWI

HIGGINSVILLE, Mo. -- Four people were injured in an one-car accident on Missouri 13 early Saturday morning.
Patrick R. Haynes, 20, of Higginsville, was northbound on Route 13 near Locust Grove Road at 4:25 a.m., when he began swerving, lost control of his car, went off the left side of the road, over-corrected and then went off the right side of the road, and hit the embankment.
Passengers in his car included Rebecca J. Greer, 36, and Tyrah M. Greer, 17, of Lexington, Mo., and Joseph M. Farris, 16, Lexington. Farris and Rebecca Greer sustained minor injuries, Tyrah Greer had moderate injuries and Haynes was seriously injured. All were transported to Lafayette Regional Medical Center. None was wearing a seat belt, Missouri Highway Patrol Cpl. J. Spire said.
Spire cited Haynes for DWI, child endangerment, careless and imprudent driving, failure to secure a child occupant and failure to wear a seat belt.
