Mules Wrestling signs nine for 2008-09

Warrensburg, Mo. -- The Central Missouri Mules wrestling squad and head coach Robin Ersland have announced nine new members who will wear the cardinal and black next season.

"We are looking forward to working with such an outstanding group of young men. This group will strengthen several weights for us, especially the upper weights," Coach Ersland said.

Following is a list of the 2008-09 signees:

Chase Chavers - 174/184
Waynesville, Mo. - Waynesville High School
Chavers was a state champion as a senior with a 37-3 record and finished fifth as a junior with a 27-10 record. He finished his career with a 108-37 mark.

Trent Freeman - 157/165
Springfield, Mo. - Kickapoo High School
A three-time state qualifier, Freeman ended his career with a runner-up finish at the state tournament posting a 37-5 season record. Freeman finished his career with an overall mark of 156-25, including two seasons with 40 or more victories.

Cole Miller - 174/184
Knob Noster, Mo. - Knob Noster High School
Miller was a two-time state champion and four-time state qualifier for head coach and former Mule Ray Stockdale. Miller won state titles as a junior and senior with a combined record of 64-4. He finished his career with a 117-27 record.

Brandon Russow - 149
Neosho, Mo. - Neosho High School
Russow was a four-time state qualifier and three-time state place winner finishing third as a senior, fourth as a junior and fifth as a sophomore. He completed his senior season with a 50-2 record and had a career mark of 153-31.

Dan Schreimann - 174/184
Warrensburg, Mo. - Warrensburg High School
A three-time state qualifier, Schreimann, finished fifth in the state as a senior with a 42-8 record. He finished his career with a 105-39 mark.

Phil Witt - 184/197
Leavenworth, Kan. - Leavenworth High School
A four-time state qualifier, Witt earned runner-up finishes at the state tournament in both his junior and senior seasons. He was a combined 68-19 in those two seasons and finished his career with a mark of 102-41.

These six signees, along with Johnny Clouthier, Ryan Mallen and Kyle Noblitt, who all signed in November, make up the Mules' 2008-09 class.
