ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The flooding Mississippi River is forcing St. Louis' popular Fourth of July event away from the riverfront.
Fair St. Louis and the concert series Live on the Levee are moving from the Gateway Arch grounds to Soldiers Memorial Plaza. Both events are free and will still feature concerts, fireworks and family activities.
Festival crews must begin setup starting June 26th. The Mississippi River is expected to crest well above flood stage on Monday, but could still be above flood stage in St. Louis through late June.
Fair St. Louis is among the nation's largest Fourth of July celebrations.
