WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- On a day that was better suited for driver practice off of heated tees the Warrensburg Tigers braved the elements and hit the links taking out St. Pius X and Harrisonville at Hidden Pines Country Club.
WHS carded a team score of 162, followed by St. Pius' 177 and Harrisonville's 196.
Tiger Ryan Marks was the medalist as he shot a one over par 37 on the front nine. Andrew Marks shot 41 and Geoff Fernquist and Mason Good both shot 42.
"The weather conditions were just as brutal as we have played in all year," head coach Guy Albert said. "The wind and wind chill was a real factor as it continued to fall throughout the match."
The temperatures were not enough, however, to discourage Marks from getting the best score in the match.
"Ryan had a remarkable round in terrible weather conditions," Albert said.
The JV won as well shooting 185. St. Pius recorded a score of 222 and Clinton managed 243. WHS scorers were Layton Moore 42, Gibson Larkin 45, Aaron Leeper 45 and Zach Born a 53.
WHS will be back in action Monday at the Grain Valley Invitational Golf Tournament at Adams Pointe Country Club in Blue Springs.
