WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Once again, UCM's Theatre Department is working on a summer children's play.
"Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Elvis" puts a fresh spin on the tale of the Pig family. They’ve been left an inheritance of worthless sequins; but not so worthless to the neighborhood big bad wolf--who happens to be an Elvis impersonator.
The wolf threatens to destroy their home unless he is given every precious stone. The children scramble to different areas of their city, looking to build the best and safest new dwelling for their family.
But the audience shouldn't get too close, the cast warns, because every Elvis "Uh-huh" and hip thrust used to knock down buildings, just might knock them over with laughter as well.
"Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Elvis" will be on tour presenting free public performances at several sites in west-central Missouri: June 19 in
Blue Springs at the Blue Springs Park Community Center; June 20 in
Richmond at Richmond Middle School; June 26 at
Whiteman AFB; June 27 in
Clinton at the Clinton Band Shell; and the final performance on June 28 in
Warrensburg on the UCM president’s lawn at Selmo Park.
All performances of "Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Elvis" start at 10 a.m.
