Artist Janice Lackey wins Best of Show at Clinton festival

CLINTON, Mo.--Warrensburg artist Janice Lackey was awarded Best of Show for her pastel entry, "Night Moves," at the 13th annual Ike Parker Memorial Fine Arts Show, held in conjunction with Old Glory Days events here July 3-5.

Other awards received for works by members of Mid-Missouri Artists were:

Professional:
1st - Janice Hargrove - "Color Commentary on the World" (colored pencil);2nd - Cynthia Morris - "Shady Character" (colored pencil); 3rd - Shirley Horacek - "Mind Garden" (water color collage)

Photography:
1st - Madge Gressley - "Delicious Elegance"

Sculpture:
2nd - Elizabeth Socolofsky-Howe - "Penny's Treasure Box" (Raku clay); 3rd -Martha Alrdridge - "Party of Three" (bronze)

High School:
1st - Holly Gressley - "Christ" (colored pencil)

Works by these artists and many others will be on display in the
MMA Summer Exhibition in the University of Central Missouri Art Center Gallery beginning July 8.

Mid-Missouri Artists is a non-profit, tax exempt arts organization withmembers from 8 counties, but primarily from Johnson, Lafayette, Pettis, and Henry counties.
