WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Mid-Missouri Artists, Inc. will conduct two childrens art classes in June and July. The classes will be offered through Warrensburg Parks and Recreation and will meet in the Arts and Crafts Room of the Warrensburg Community Center.

"Kidz and Colored Pencils" will be offered for children ages 10 and over from June 16 to 20. The class will meet from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the instructor, Rebecca Limback, an award-winning colored pencil artist, will teach colored pencil techniques and materials, with students completing a colored pencil painting of their choice. Students should provide a basic colored pencil set with a minimum of 24 pencils (Prismacolor brand if possible) but 48 preferred, and a colorless blender. An electric eraser is optional, and students may use the instructor's. Materials in which to draw and paint will be supplied.

"Stax the Kat," paper sculpture by Theresa Hoy.
"Nature Paper Art" will be conducted during the week of July 7-11 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Paper artist Theresa Hoy will instruct children aged 8-12 in her class, creating art using paper pulp made from recycled materials, such as junk mail, wrapping paper, brown paper sacks, and other used products. In "Nature Paper Art," students will learn to pull and press sheets of paper and sculpt a three-dimensional piece using "paper clay." Materials will be supplied.

Both classes will meet in the Arts and Crafts Room of the
Warrensburg Community Center.
