'Rags to Rugs' topic of March 25 meeting of Mid-Missouri Artists

WARRENSBURG, Mo.--Pamela Comer will present a folk arts program, "Rags to Rugs," at the March 25 meeting Mid-Missouri Artists, Inc., in the Arts and Crafts Room of the Warrensburg Community Center, 445 East Gay St., beginning at 7 p.m.
This will be a hands-on program. Comer will demonstrate and explain how rugs are crocheted from fabric strips. A selection of completed rugs will be displayed. Artists can apply their knowledge of color and design in their planning. People wanting to take part in the hands-on portion are asked to bring the following: large crochet hook size Q, cotton sheet (old or new) torn into 1 ½" to 2" strips (about 24 strips), scissors.
Recipients of the 2010 MMA Dorothy Hawksley Emerging Artist awards will be guests and will display some of their works from the UCM Citation Awards Show.
