Funeral for Genevieve Bagnell, 69, of Centerview, is Thursday; she was killed in head-on collision

CENTERVIEW, Mo.--Genevieve Parsons McCurry Bagnell, 69, of Centerview, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, from injuries received in an auto accident.

She was born Sept. 19, 1940, in Centerview, the daughter of Arthur John and Stella (McCoy) Parsons.

She married Dorman E. McCurry in Warrensburg May 12, 1967. He preceded her in death June 28, 2002.

She married Cliff Bagnell in Centerview April 2, 2005,

Mrs. Bagnell was a homemaker and had been a caretaker for several couples and individuals in their homes.

She was a member of the Jacoby Chapel Church of Centerview. Her passions were gardening, canning, fishing, doing crafts, wild life and just being outdoors.

Survivors include her husband, Cliff Bagnell of Centerview; five children, Curtis McCurry and wife, Shelly, of Centerview; Connie Ross and husband, Michael, of Holden; Nathan Brown and wife, Kathy, of Honduras; Jacquetta Towles and husband, Jim, and Paula Scott and husband, Tom, all of Versailles; one brother, John Gaylon Parsons of Pittsville; a sister, Bonita Darlene Brookshier and husband, Robert, of Blue Springs; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg, with Pastors Rich Eaton and Fred Clothier officiating.

Burial will be in the Union Cemetery at the Jacoby Chapel in Centerview. Pallbearers are Tommie Brookshier, Donald Wonderly, Randy VanWey, Gary McKee, Terry Bagnell and Tom Thomas.

The family will receive friends Thursday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until time for services.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Mothers Against Drunk Drivers in care of the funeral home.
