Funeral for Harlan Mifflin, 76, of Warrensburg, is Tuesday

WARRENSBURG, Mo.--The funeral for Harlan W. Mifflin, 76, of Warrensburg, will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Mifflin officiating.
He died Friday, Feb. 5., at his home.
Harlan was born Dec. 1, 1933, in Cornelia, Mo., the son of Estil and Bessie (Smith) Mifflin.
He attended College High School and graduated in 1951. From 1954 to 1956, he served in the U.S. Army.
He married Carlene Siegfried, in Miami, Okla., Nov. 26, 1957.
Harlan worked for Marr and Sons quarry and later as an inspector for the Bendix Corporation in Kansas City. He retired in 1994 after 33 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and taking his grandchildren fishing and watching them play ball.
He is survived by his wife, Carlene; two sons, Sid Mifflin and wife, Laurie, and Dale Mifflin and wife, Pam; one daughter, Sandy Wright and husband, Larry, all of Warrensburg; one sister, Gladys Dean and husband, John, of Holden; six grandchildren: Dean and Travis Wright, Bradley, Jennifer, Brittany, and Garrett Mifflin, all of Warrensburg.
Harlan was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bruce Mifflin and two sisters, Ailine Atkins and June Stockton.
Interment will follow Tuesday at the Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be all of Harlan's grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 8, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Johnson County Hospice or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation and may be left in care of the funeral home.
