Julia Lou Prince, 75, of Holden, has died; her funeral will be Friday

HOLDEN, Mo.--Julia Lou Prince, 75, of Holden, Missouri, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at St. Lukes Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo.

She was born Feb. 1, 1935, in Columbia, Mo., the daughter of Bryce and Lou Ella (Waters) McFarland.

She graduated from Holden High School in 1952 and lived in the Kansas City area most of her life until returning to Holden and Kingsville in 1996.

Julia sewed for a drapery factory and later worked as a nursing home nutritionist. The past nine years she was a cashier at Price Chopper in Lee’s Summit. She married Wendell Austin Prince in Blue Springs, Mo.,Jan. 28, 1988 . He preceded her in death Feb. 20, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Krieger, and a son, Donald R. Ferris Sr.

She leaves one son, Bryce Edward Ferris, Tonganoxie, Kan.; four daughters, Barbara Gregory, Leeton, Mo., Linda McConville and husband, Randy, Kingsville, Mo., Kathy Reynolds and husband, Rusty, Lee’s Summit, Mo., and Tammy Siebrandt, Claflin, Kan.; two brothers, Robert B. McFarland, Holden, Mo., and Ray McFarland, Raytown, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, at Ben Cast & Son – Wood Funeral Home, Holden, Mo., Elder Ray McFarland officiating.

Pallbearers will be Roger Deines, Shawn Diebold, Matt McConville, Brent McConville, Jeremiah Ferris and Jacob Ferris

Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Ferris Jr., Robert Ferris, Darrell Alexander, Chuck Siebrandt, Jonathan Ferris and Joshua Ferris.

Interment will be in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.

Friends may call 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
