Lela Fockler, 92, has died; her funeral will be Monday

WARRENSBURG, Mo.--Lela Lovera Beard Fockler, 92, of Warrensburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at the Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo.
She was born April 11, 1917, in Warrensburg, the daughter of Fred and Louise Margaret (Bode) Beard.
She attended Valley City School, Victory and Woodland .
She married James R. Fockler in Warrensburg June 26, 1941. They were married 51 1/2 years. He preceded her in death Sept. 23, 1992.
Mrs. Fockler had great faith for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She flowered in her Savior's footsteps by expressing her love, generosity, compassion and with service to her fellowmen.
Mrs. Fockler worked 17 years for Unifemme Factory in Warrensburg, 10 years at Jack Turner Laundry Mat in Knob Noster, which was sold to Charlie and Betty Rhoads Laundry Mat, working there 5 years, and 4 years for George and Herma Hanna in their home.
Survivors include a son, James Lowell Fockler of Blue Springs; 2 step-daughters, Reva Maude Meadows of St. Joseph and Dealy Joyce Armstrong of Independence; 3 sisters: Mildred Beard and Virgie Fockler, both of Warrensburg, and Zeta Boyle of Corpus Christi, Texas; and brother-in-law Shirley Ballew of Warrensburg. Other survivors are 3 grandchildren: James Steven Fockler and wife Brenda of Warrensburg, Fred Russell Fockler and wife Patti of Pittsville, Regina Janell Stricklan and husband Royce of Blue Springs; 3 great-grandchildren, Ryan Stricklan, T. J. Stricklan, both of Blue Springs, and Michele Lynn Schoen and husband, Kevin, of Deepwater; and great-great grandchild Wesley Nathaniel Fockler of Deepwater; one step great-great-grandchild Austin Ryan Schoen of Goldsboro, N.C.; several nieces and nephews; and lots of relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Noah William and Ervin Cecil Beard; and 4 sisters: Dora Frances Beard, Vera Christina Beard, Roxie Pauline Ballew and Helen "Midge" Cundiff.
Her funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Warrensburg,
President Randy Phillips and Bishop Chad Heath officiating.
The family will receive friends Monday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
Pallbearers are James Steven Fockler, Fred Russell Fockler, Jeff Hanna, Mike Hanna, Rodney Gregory and Douglas Fockler. Honorary pallbearers are Steven Hanna, Ronald Dean Fockler, Larry Wayne Smith, Fred Bread, Nelson Beard, Nick Hanna; Kevin Schoen, Dr. Hugh Hanna and Dr. M. Shridharani.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lela Lovera Fockler Memorial Fund and may be left at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
