WARRENSBURG, Mo.--Robert George Stout, 72, of Warrensburg, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.
He was born Aug. 24, 1937, in Carthage, Mo., the son of Harry and Lennie (Watkins) Stout.
He married Mona Marie McKinnon in Carthage Oct. 18, 1958,. She preceded him in death Oct. 23, 2004.
Mr. Stout was a graduate from Carthage High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, served during the Vietnam War and retired after 20 years as a technical sergeant. Mr. Stout received his bachelor's degree from at CMSU and worked for the physical plant at CMSU and became plant manager before retiring. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 131 of Warrensburg.
Survivors include two sons, Randy M. Stout and wife Denise of Independence, and Raymond L Stout and wife Rochell of Jefferson City; six grandchildren: Shara Dawn Flanagan and husband Lee of Independence, Serena Hill and husband Don, of Camdenton, Bobbi Stout and Linda Winchester and husband Jesse, all of Independence, Vance Jisa and James Jisa both of Jefferson City; and five great-grandchildren: Alexis Foose, Liam Strong, Blain Flanagan and Katie Winchester, all of Independence, and Donavan Hill of Camdenton.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Stout.
His funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home, Warrensburg.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. Saturday Nov. 21, 2009, in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage, Mo. Full military honors will be provided at the cemetery. Pallbearers are Randy Stout, Raymond Stout, Bill Brasel, James Jisa, Lee Flanagan, Steve Howard and Vance Jisa.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Heart Association or American Cancer Society and may be left at the funeral home.
