Jennies roll past Emporia State 3-0

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -– The Central Missouri Jennies soccer team extended their win streak to five games as they rolled to a 3-0 win over Emporia State on Saturday night at the South Recreation Complex.
The Jennies (7-1-1, 5-0 MIAA) opened the scoring in the 32nd minute when freshman Cara Hennahane recorded her first career goal. Hennahane knocked in a loose ball to make it 1-0 UCM. The Jennies made it 2-0 in the 43rd minute when Lexie Bristow hammered in a cross from Kayla Jupp. Junior Melanie Hall capped the scoring in the 80th minute when she beat the keeper on a breakaway for her team-leading sixth goal of the season.
Sophomore net minder Lauren Bamvakais faced only two shots all night and made one save on the way to her seventh win of the season and fifth shutout. UCM outshot the Lady Hornets 15-2 for the game and held a 6-2 advantage on corner kicks.
The Jennies return to the pitch next Thursday night when they host Northwest Missouri State at 7 p.m. at Jennies Field.
