Jennies soccer stuns Bulldogs; Wins 2-0

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Central Missouri Jennies soccer team shut out the Truman State Bulldogs 2-0 Saturday at the UCM South Recreation Complex. This is only the sixth time that UCM has defeated TSU in the soccer program's history.
Central Missouri (10-5-2, 9-3-1 MIAA) has now won 10 or more games in a season for the fifth straight time.
Melanie Hall scored the game-winning goal for the Jennies in the 19th minute of the game. She beat three Bulldog defenders before kicking the ball past the outstretched goalie and into the back of the net. This is Hall’s 10th goal of the season and fourth game-winner. In her career, Hall has 37 goals, tying her for the most goals scored in a Jennies uniform.
Just after halftime, in the 57th minute, Cara Hennahane took the ball down the far side of the field before passing it to Kelsie Hanson for the second goal. This was Hanson’s first collegiate goal and Hennahane’s third assist on the year.
Central Missouri recorded nine shots, six on goal, and Truman State collected eight, two on goal.
Lauren Bamvakais saved both shots kicked at her as she posted her ninth shutout of the season in net.
The Jennies will return to action Monday when they face Southwest Baptist. First whistle is slated for 3 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar, Mo.
