WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The No. 6 Central Missouri Jennies rolled past No. 19 Truman State 3-0, (25-12, 25-12, 25-23) at the Multipurpose Building Wednesday evening. With their 11th straight home victory the Jens completed the season sweep of the Bulldogs, the first since 1998.

In the process the Jens upped their record against ranked teams to 11-3.

UCM (29-4, 15-2 MIAA) took command early in the first set. Truman (22-11, 10-7 MIAA) was held to a .000 attack percentage as the Jennies jumped out to a 20-9 lead. It was all Jennies through most of the match, a notable difference from the first meeting this year when
the Bulldogs took the first two sets in Kirksville.

With the help of an early 8-0 run coach Piontek’s squad cruised to a 10-2 advantage in the second. Truman totaled more errors (7) than kills (6) and allowed six different Jens to record kills. Bradye Peniston tallied four blocks, helping the Jens win.

In the third set, the Bulldogs showed a glimpse of the type of play that garnered them the No. 19 rank in the nation. The Bulldogs tied the score 10 times and outhit the Jens .227 to .137. With the score tied at 17, a 5-0 Jennies run put them ahead for good.

The victory was due largely to UCM killing 40 attacks compared to only 27 for the Bulldogs. On top of that, Truman committed three more errors than UCM, hitting .067 to Central’s .200. Allie Huffman was the only Jenny with double-digit kills (10). Setter Caitlin Pankratz celebrated senior night with six kills (.667), 26 assists, and nine digs while Rachel Fister raked in a team high 14 digs.

The next time the Jens are in action will be Friday night when they travel to Northwest Missouri State for a 7 p.m. first serve.
