CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP)--A 22-year-old Malden woman has been charged with submitting a phony transcript in an attempt to gain admission and merit-based scholarships at Southeast Missouri State University.

The Southeast Missourian reported that an arrest warrant was issued Friday for Danielle Feagin. She is accused of submitting a fake transcript from Three Rivers Community College.

Prosecutor Morley Swingle said Feagin had applied for thousands of dollars worth of scholarships on a fake transcript that showed a perfect 4.0 grade point average and 89 credit hours.

But the document was altered enough to raise suspicions.

Police said Feagin had 37 credit hours and had a GPA of 2.4.

Feagin does not have a listed phone number. Court records indicate she does not yet have an attorney.
