UCM board meets after Podolefksy's ouster
Oct 29, 2009, 8:25 AM
WARRENSBURG, Mo. (AP)--The University of Central Missouri's governing board was set to meet Thursday for the first time since deciding not to retain the school's popular president.
The board has given no reason for its split vote to oust Aaron Podolefsky, effective June 30. Podolefsky has led the Warrensburg school since July 2005.
There were no plans to discuss Podolefsky's job at the public portion of the meeting. Some of his supporters asked to address the Board of Governors but were denied.
More than half of the university's tenured faculty signed a petition asking the board to renew Podolefsky's contract.
