Army medical unit CO will discuss his experiences in Iraq

WARRENSBURG, Mo.-- Maj. Joe Ely, commander of the 1863rd
Medical Detachment, U.S. Army Reserves, and assistant professor of
biology in the Department of Biology and Earth Science at the University of Central Missouri, will present “Army Preventive Medicine in Operation Iraqi Freedom 08-09” at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in the Nahm Auditorium in the W.C. Morris Science Building.
Ely will discuss his experiences while deployed during a 12-month
period, including 11 months in Iraq.
Ely is an assistant professor of biology in the Department of Biology and Earth Science at the University of Central Missouri. His presentation is open to the public.
Public parking is available in the visitors' lot at Clark and Holden streets.
