Lady Tiger swimmers enjoy successful trip to state

The Warrensburg Lady Tigers swim team completed its season with the 2010 MSHSAA Girls State Swimming & Diving Championships held Friday and Saturday at the Rec-Plex in St. Peters, Mo.

Warrensburg took eight swimmers to the meet and the Lady Tigers placed 18th of 49 teams.

“It was a successful season for the Lady Tigers,” coach Sharon Nations said in a release. “I want to sincerely thank the parents for their support not only at the state meet, but during the entire season!”

Lauren Shaw had the top individual finish for Warrensburg, as she brought home a sixth-place medal in the 100-yard backstroke after finishing the championship final in 59.67 seconds.

Warrensburg’s 200 medley relay team of Shaw, Kayla Ernewein, Shelby Dyer and Megan Livesay finished ninth in the 200-medley relay, as the Lady Tigers won the consolation final in 1:54.29. The same four girls finished 15th in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:44.25.

Other finishers for the Lady Tigers at state were: Livesay, 53rd, 200 individual medley; Shaw, 19th, 50 freestyle; Kayla Ernewein, 24th, 50 freestyle; Kayla Ernewein, 19th, 100 butterfly; Livesay, 21st, 100 breaststroke; and Brittany Gladish, Savannah Ernewein, Ashley Hobbs and Kaitie Whitney finished 39th in the 400 freestyle relay.
