WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- Warrensburg defeated Cole Camp 10-0 in last night’s soccer match. Shayne Luehrs set a new school record for goals in a game with seven.

“Congratulations to Shayne Luehrs for breaking the school record of goals in a game," head coach Matthew Bax said. "Shayne and the team did a good job of staying within our style of play to get the goals. Even as Shayne was closing in on the record he did not hesitate to assist on Rey Talavera’s goal when the defenders collapsed on him.”

Rey Talavera added two goals and Thomas Chaney added one. The Tigers got three assists from Josh Taylor, two assists from Shayne Luehrs and Jonathan Willard and single assists from Thomas Chaney, Michael Hutcheson, and Jordan Pfaff.

The win improves Warrensburg’s record to 15-2 on the year.

“We have two tremendous challenges before us this week. We move back into conference play with a home game against St. Pius X on Tuesday and then go to preseason conference favorite, Smith-Cotton, on Thursday. This will be two big games in which we will need to play our best to win.”

The JV Tigers won 2-0 off two Josh Pfaff goals. Michael Hobbs and Nick Watson had assists. The JV Tigers are now 9-1 on the season.
