WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Warrensburg High School girls golf team shot 355 and finished fourth Monday in the Class 2, District 5 tournament at Sedalia Country Club.
The 18-hole score broke a school record set earlier this season. Jennifer Tian shot 81, Corinne Rich shot 86, Macae Mudd shot 90, Sarah Ouellette shot 98 and Cait Kerber shot 105.
“I thought we played very well,” head coach Chris Nimmo said. “Corinne and Macae both shot their best rounds ever. Jennifer was very solid, and Sarah and Cait also played well.
“We had a goal of winning our district, but we did play the best we had all season, so it is hard to feel bad about not accomplishing this goal.”
Tian and Rich earned a second consecutive trip to the state tournament, Oct. 20-21 at Silo Ridge Golf Course in Bolivar, Mo.
Tian, Rich and Mudd earned all-district honors.
“To shoot a school record and not win is nothing to be ashamed of,” Nimmo said. “We finished our team portion of the season on a high note.”
