WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The city is assisting The Food Center by maintaining three food collection points through Sunday, Dec. 21, according to Kory Alfred, director of Parks and Recreation, and Fire Chief Phil Johnston.

Non-perishable food items may be dropped off at City Hall at 102 S. Holden, at the Community Center at 445 E. Gay, and at Fire Station No. 2 at 1550 Corporate Drive. The collection containers at City Hall and Fire Station 2 are located in areas accessible around the clock.

“This annual partnership between The Food Center and the City of Warrensburg helps us significantly increase our opportunities to receive food donations during November and December,” noted Shirley Albert, director of The Food Center.

“Fire Department members will gather the food delivered to the city’s drop-off locations and transport it to The Food Center,” said Johnston. The Food Center is located at 137 E. Culton in Warrensburg.

Alfred said, “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to donate to The Food Center because we know Johnson County families derive a significant benefit from the generosity of the people who contribute the food items.”
