WARRENSBURG, Mo.--Johnson County Community Health Services (JCCHS) has received additional doses of H1N1 vaccine from the Department of Health and Senior Services and will make it available to residents at a walk-in clinic.
The vaccine will be available Wednesday Oct. 28, from 2 to 6 p.m.
at the Johnson County Community Health’s office, 429 Burkarth Road.
The vaccine is available to Johnson County residents in CDC’s targeted priority groups:
--People who live with or care for children under 6 months of age
--Children 2 to 18 years of age
--Healthcare workers with direct patient care contact
--Childcare workers
The flu mist nasal vaccine is available for those 2 – 49 years without chronic disease.
Injections are for those who do not qualify for the flu mist nasal vaccine.
Individuals should not receive the vaccine if they have any influenza-like illness symptoms (cough, runny nose, fever, sore throat, body aches, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea), the JCCHS said.
Johnson County Community Health Services is also working with several community medical partners by providing them with vaccine for their staff and/or clients.
