Noon Rotary picks officers for 2008-09, reviews year's accomplishments

WARRENSBURG, Mo. --The Noon Rotary Club has installed new officers for the coming year.

Laura Gillum will be president, John Yost vice president, Georgia Stewart-Simmons secretary, Scott Patrick treasurer, and Anita Ewing past president. They were installed at the June 24 meeting.

Ewing highighted the organization's accomplishments for the past year, noting it had funded more than $24,000 in scholarships, grants and gifts; had given the Warrensburg Free Clinic $5,000 earned with its Pulled Pork Roast, and anticipated a similar amount from its recent Rotary Fish Fry.

The club honored two members with awards--Judy Schache won the Four-way Test Award and Sharon Jennings the Sterling Silver Award.

The Noon Rotary meets Tuesdays at the American Legion.
