'Summer Singers, Some are not' returns for second community sing-a-long

WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The appropriately titled "Summer Singers, Some are not" community sing-a-long was held last week and received a favorable turnout for the second straight year.

The annual event is reserved for those who enjoy singing, but aren't exactly nipping at the heels of Justin Timberlake as the next music sensation.

Mary Alice Lyon organized the second event in its brief history.

"About 100 of us had so much fun singing last time that we voted to do it again this year," Lyon said.

Lyrics to the songs were projected onto a screen, forming a sort of community karaoke. The singers were accompanied by area musicians, rounding out the musical medly.
