Training offered for amateur radio technician license

WARRENSBURG, Mo.--The Warrensburg/Johnson County Emergency Management and Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) will sponsor an amateur radio technician-level course aimed at public safety, public service personnel, and the general public.
This is a two-day course. These classes are eight hours of class time, with a test session following the end of class two.
Technician-level licensees can operate in any mode on any band from 6 meters and higher in the bands assigned to the amateur service.
Amateur aadio has proven itself, time and time again, when all other communication systems fail because it requires little or no existing infrastructure to operate and can be operational in an “event” environment with limited equipment or power requirements.
The course will be offered at the Warrensburg/Johnson County
Emergency Management Emergency Operation Center,122 Hout St.,
Saturday Feb. 20 and Saturday Feb. 27, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There is no cost to attend the course. The test fees are $15
