Dancing with the Professors dances to a stage near you

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – The University of Central Missouri Dance club is back and hosting its 7th annual fundraiser, Dancing with the professors, this event raises funds to send students to the American College Dance Association.

This dance event will take place at 7:30 p.m. April 29 in Highlander Theatre. Tickets to the show will be $5.

Faculty and staff participating this year are Chuck Clemens, football coach; Alex Smith, percussion professor; John Kennedy, web and multimedia producer; Michael Sekelsky, Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; Hannah Marsh, anthropology professor; Erica Spurgeon, fashion professor; Darla Honn, accounting professor; and Nancy Forth, program coordinator and professor of counselor education.

The students in the cast include Lexi Poindexter, junior musical theatre major; Hannah Unruh, junior theatre performance major; Valerie Ruggle, sophomore child and family development major; Annie Beile, school counseling graduate student; Ethan Shaffer, sophomore theatre technology and design major; Tristan Jordan, sophomore speech communication and theatre major; Demetrius Hampton, sophomore theatre performance major; and Dakota Grieshaber, senior music technology major, according to the news release.

The event is organized by Grant Lesher, junior musical theatre major and Vice President of the dance club and Ashley Miller-Scully, associate professor of dance, serves as the advisor for the dance club.

“Dancing with the Professors has proven to be one of the largest student run fundraisers on campus and it is easily one of my favorite events of the year,” Miller-Scully said.
