Dominique Long named Second Team NABC All-District

(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – Central Missouri senior forward Dominique Long has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II All-District Second Team as announced Friday. Long is one of four MIAA players named to either the first or second team and is now eligible for the NABC Coaches’ Division II All-America Team.

Long led the MIAA Regular Season Co-Champion and Tournament Champion Mules in scoring at 15.1 points per game. The Waynesville, Mo. native also pulled down 4.6 rebounds per game and shot 48 percent from the field. He finished his career shooting .838 from the free throw line, the sixth best percentage in school history.

The Mules won the MIAA regular season and tournament championships and finished the season 22-8 after making their sixth appearance in the NCAA Tournament under head coach Kim Anderson.

Located in Kansas City, MO, the NABC was founded in 1927 by Forrest “Phog” Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas and former coach at Central Missouri. Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game.
