Doris Marie Williams

Doris Marie Williams, 90, of Warrensburg, Missouri; formerly of Leeton, Missouri, died Sunday, Oct. 1, at Warrensburg Manor Care Center.

Funeral Services was 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct.4 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Rev. Charles Brant officiating.

Private interment will follow at Mineral Creek Cemetery at Leeton.

Pallbearers will be Stephen L. Van Oster, Daren M. Rapp, Simon Hersberger, Cal Jenkins and Keith E. Schulz. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time, Wednesday at the funeral home.

Doris was born Nov. 14, 1926, at Egland, North Dakota, daughter of Henry and Ada (Rance) Garske. Her family moved to Warrensburg when Doris was in the second grade, where she attended Dawson School. Next, her parents purchased a farm near Leeton, where Doris finished her schooling. She was employed with Unitog, in Warrensburg, for over 25 years. Later, she managed the Community Clothes Closet for 25 years. Doris received several awards from the Catholic Church in recognition of her volunteer work.

Survivors include sister: Eilene Chism of Baltimore, Marryland; three grandchildren: Stephen Leroy Van Oster and wife, Heather of Morrison, Colorado; Sherry Ann Rapp and husband, Daren of Centerview, Missouri; and Misty Dawn Houk of Warrensburg; five great grandchildren: Richard Kelley McClure, Rebekah Shay Coates, Marjorie Kay Houk, Cody Allen Carney and William Forrest Van Oster; two great-great grandchildren: Lucian Kail McClure and Suki Hana McClure; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Marjorie Kay Pennock; son: Larry Ray Williams; her parents and stepfather: Victor Sandeen; sister Ella Victoria South; and two brothers: Cecil Leroy Garske and Ray Eugene Garske.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to First Baptist Church or Johnson Co. Cancer Foundation.
