Grayson Earl “Bud” Viles, 76, of Knob Noster, has died; funeral is Aug. 11

(KNOB NOSTER, Mo.)–Grayson Earl “Bud” Viles, 76, of Knob Noster, died Wednesday Aug. 8, at Ridgecrest Nursing Center.

He was born April 27, 1936, in Henley, Mo., the son of Grayson Eric and Elsie LaVerne (Jones) Viles.

On February 6, 1954, he married Yvonne Smith in Lexington, Mo.

Bud worked as a heavy equipment operator for 45 years and the last 18 years he worked for John Ernest Construction Company in Grand Pass, Mo. He was a member of the Local 101 IUOE Union and a member of the La Monte Christian Church.

Bud is survived by his wife Yvonne; two daughters: Denise Trent and husband Tracy of Warrensburg; and Robin Gregg and husband Alfred of Warrensburg; two sons: Herman Eric Viles and wife Ruth of Knob Noster; and Robert Wayne Viles of Knob Noster; one brother, David H. Viles and wife Barbara of Ionia, Mo.; three sisters: Marilyn Cockrum and husband Denny of Knob Noster; Nancy Dunaway and husband Richard of Omaha, Neb.; and Mary Sullivan of Huntsville, Ala.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant son, Grayson Earl Viles.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Parkinson’s Foundation and both can be left in care of the funeral home.
