June F. Lohe

June F. Lohe, 80, of Holden, Missouri, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at home surrounded by her family.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Holden with Fr. Curt Vogel officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Lohe, David Lohe, Jim Lohe, Michael Lohe, Bill Denney and Ted Guinn.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a Rosary Service at 10:30 a.m., both at the church.

June was born Feb. 13, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Emil J. and Martha A. (Wolkey) Pfeiffer. She graduated from Lillis High School in Kansas City. She was united in marriage to Bernard J. “Bud” Lohe in Kansas City on Nov. 5, 1955. The couple resided for several years in Lee’s Summit. In 1970, they moved to an acreage near Holden where Bud was raised. June was employed at Holden Manufacturing for a time. Later, she worked with her son-in-law, Ted Guinn, at his American Family Insurance office in downtown Holden. She enjoyed shopping, going to the casino, crocheting, playing games with her sisters, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Bud; two daughters, Pam (Ted) Guinn and Kathy (Bill) Denney, both of Holden, Missouri; four sons, Jim Lohe, of Holden; Michael (Shari) Lohe, of Topeka, Kansas; David (Sherri) and Andy (Sara), both of Holden; sister, Mildred Huntoon, of Independence, Missouri; 13 grandchildren, Kevin (Trisha) Guinn, of Independence; Dan (Carri) Guinn, of Kingsville, Missouri; Julie (Pat) Murray, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; Laurie (Matt) Lane, of Warrensburg, Missouri; Brian (Jessica) Denney, of Grain Valley, Missouri; Emily Jo (Adam) Denney, of Independence; Lauren (Greg) Liaschenko, of Lindenwold, New Jersey; Michael Paul Lohe, of Topeka; Jonathan Lohe, of Manhattan, Kansas; Devin Lohe, Ashley Lohe, Bailey Lohe and Emma Lohe, all of Holden; 19 great-grandchildren, Patrick Guinn; Taylor and Tyler Guinn; Jack and Ellie Murray; Karlie, Kody and Kelsie Knowles; Damen and Kendall Lane; Makenzie, Brooke and Kynlee Denney; George, Oliver and Fredrick Liaschenko; Alyssa, Zylin and LeSai Lohe; and several nieces and nephews.

June was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Jean Marie; and four sisters, Kathryn Palmer, Betty Castle, Mary Louise Ford and Vivian Johnson.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Children’s Mercy Hospital.

Arrangements entrusted to Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden.
