Mules down rival Northwest

The Mules celebrate their 31-21 win over Northwest Saturday, breaking a nine-game losing streak to the Bearcats.

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) — The Mules jumped to a 24-7 first-half lead Saturday and held off No. 3 Northwest Missouri for a 31-21 upset win at Walton Stadium.

The Mules celebrate their 31-21 win over Northwest Saturday, breaking a nine-game losing streak to the Bearcats.

The Mules went four for four on red zone chances as they rebounded from a 38-26 week one loss on the road at Missouri Western.

Colter Smith went 28-44 for 301 yards and four touchdowns, hitting Anthon Kirkwood for two of those scores. For the Bearcats, Trevor Adams was 28-49 for 335 yards and two touchdowns.

The Mules’s win breaks a nine-game losing streak to Northwest, five being in Warrensburg.
