Mules Football game suspended until Sunday at 1 p.m.

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) — The Central Missouri Mules homecoming football game with Central Oklahoma has been suspended and will resume on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The game was suspended with the Bronchos leading 10-6 at the start of the second quarter.

The game will resume where it was halted on Saturday with the Bronchos facing a third down and 1 from their own 45 yard line to start the second quarter.

The game kicked off at 3:30 p.m., two hours after the originally scheduled start time of 1:30 due to lightning. Once the game got going, both offenses took over.

Central Oklahoma took the opening possession of the game and drove 59 yards in nine plays, capped off by a 23-yard field goal from Chris Robbs to lead 3-0.

The Mules answered on their opening possession with a field goal of their own, a 40-yarder from Aaron Jamieson. UCM drove 57 yards in 10 plays with the big play a 30-yard completion from Colter Smith to Anthony Kirkwood on third and four from the UCM 40.

UCO wasted no time in regaining the lead, driving 75 yards in 12 plays in 3:58 to grab a 10-3 lead. The Bronchos converted two third downs on the drive and Joshua Birmingham capped it with a four-yard touchdown run.

The Mules came right back down the field on their next possession, but had to settle for another field goal from Jamieson, this one from 49 yards to pull within 10-6.

After the score the game went into another lightning delay that lasted 59 minutes. After the stoppage, the Mules kicked off and the Bronchos ran three plays before another lightning delay. After another lengthy delay a decision was made to suspend the game until 1 p.m. Sunday where it will pick back up where it left off.

Fans will be allowed in to the game for free on Sunday.
