Phase I Emergency Snow Ordinance takes effect Monday

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – Current forecasts show exceptional quantities of snow and blizzard conditions hitting the Warrensburg area.

In anticipation of the potential for another round of heavy winter weather, the City of Warrensburg is declaring that Phase I of the Emergency Snow Ordinance go into effect at 6 p.m. on Monday evening, Feb. 25. The Emergency Snow Ordinance will remain in effect until roadways can be successfully cleared to their full width.

Vehicles on Emergency Snow Routes must be removed during this “Snow Emergency” or they will be towed at the owner’s expense. All other residents are strongly advised to remove their vehicles from all city streets to help expedite snow removal efforts.

Due to the nature of repetitive storms, street crews will encounter difficulty in maintaining sufficient driving lane widths without the public’s vital assistance.
