Ronald Dean Dills

Ronald Dean Dills, 68, of Kingsville, Missouri, died unexpectedly Friday, Nov. 2, at his home. 

Ron was born July 25, 1950, in Kansas City, the son of Lellous H. and Bonnie J. (Wolfe) Dills. He graduated from Van Horn High School in Independence, class of 1968. He was united in marriage to Dronda K. Smith on April 30, 1977, in Independence. The couple made their home in Kansas City for several years. They moved near Kingsville nearly 30 years ago. Ron retired from Smurfit Stone Container in Kansas City. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed tractors and old cars. He was an animal lover, especially beagles. Ron loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Dronda; daughter, Dedra (Chris) Pugh, of Adrian, Missouri; two sons, Jeff (Amber) Dills, of Independence; and Brian Dills, of Kingsville; eight grandchildren, Katelyn Pugh and Cierra Pugh, both of Adrian; Dakota Dills, of Odessa, Missouri; Cody Dills, Cheyanne Dills, Kaylee Dills, Aidan Dills and Paige Dills, all of Independence; two sisters, Brenda Dujakovich, of Independence; and Joyce (Archie) Britt, of Warsaw, Missouri; two brothers, Richard (Janice) Dills, of Independence; and Kevin (Stacey) Dills, of Kansas City, Missouri; mother-in-law, Wanda Smith, of Kingsville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Adam Dills; and father-in-law, Dennis Smith.

Memorial services were Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with the Rev. John McRoy of Kingsville Baptist Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ronald D. Dills Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
