Shirley J. Phillips

Shirley J. Phillips, 77, of Warrensburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 10 at Warrensburg Manor Care Center.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21 at the daughter’s residence at 166 N.E. 1011 Road in Knob Noster.

Interment will be held at a later date at the Masters Memorial Gardens in Palatka, Fla.

She was born Jan. 21, 1935, in Allegheny, Pa., the daughter of Robert and Violet (Robinson) Fugh.

She was united in marriage Feb. 15, 1956 to Albert Phillips in Winchester, Va.  He preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1983.

Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of Warrensburg and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Warrensburg.

Shirley is survived by two daughters, Cindy Lancaster of Knob Noster, and Jan Ricketson of Palatka, Fla.; eight grandchildren, William Lancaster of Knob Noster, Mo., Gus Lancaster V of Knob Noster, Nicole Canada of Colorado Springs, Colo., Robert Field of Independence, Mo., Raymond Rodgers of Independence, Ashley Eakins of Independence, Amanda Mallory of Bostwick, Fla., and Andrew Eakins of Independence; and five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Kathy Rodgers, in 2012.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and can be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
