Thelma Singleton

Thelma Singleton, 75, of Knob Noster, died Tuesday, Dec. 11 at Research Medical Center.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at the Jesus Saves Pentecostal Church in Warrensburg with Brother Morris Collins officiating.

Interment will follow at Knob Noster Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21 at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.

She was born Sept. 17, 1937, in Palmetto, La., the daughter of Vincent and Mary Zerita (Franks) Boagni.

She was united in marriage on July 13, 1965 to Wallace Singleton in Flint, Mich.

Thelma worked as a care assistant for a child care center in the community. She was a member of the Jesus Saves Pentecostal Church in Warrensburg, where she had served as a pastor’s assistant. Thelma was a wonderful mother and grandmother to everyone she knew. She enjoyed life and especially enjoyed helping people, serving the Lord, and was known as a wonderful cook.

Thelma is survived by her husband, Wallace; four sons, Dale Patrick Stelley and wife, Norma, of Baton Rouge, La.; Eddie Paul Stelley, of Baytown, Texas; Herbie Singleton and wife, Pauline, of Knob Noster; and Titus Singleton and fiancée, Sarah Lee, of Blue Springs, Mo.; three daughters, Angenette Singleton, of Kansas City, Mo.; Joanna Singleton, of Knob Noster; and Zerita Vansel and husband, Mark, of Sedalia; one brother, Eddie James Boagni, of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister, Ann Scott, of Baldwin Hills, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Sheri Williams.
