(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – The a cappella group Tonic Sōl-Fa takes to the Hendricks Hall stage for the University of Central Missouri’s Performing Arts Series Holiday Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29.

As a special added feature for the holiday concert, the Warrensburg High School Chorus will join Tonic Sōl-Fa on stage for a special holiday performance.

Tonic Sōl-Fa has been featured on NBC’s “Today” show and in “Newsweek” magazine. The group brings “boy next door” personalities and a “hip mixture of Tony Bennett and Reality Bites” to the stage in each of their performances before sold-out crowds, according to a news release.

A member of the Midwest Music Hall of Fame, Tonic Sōl-Fa offers a mixture of pop hits and country, original works and classic oldies, comedy parodies and cartoons in their varied repertoire. For their UCM holiday performance, the group will lend their unique style and talent to traditional holiday favorites.

Tonic Sōl-Fa began at St. John’s University with Mark McGowan, who sings baritone, and lead vocalist Shaun Johnson. Tenor Greg Bannwarth, and bass Jared Dove, joined soon after, completing the quartet.

Along the way, they shared the stage with a number of recognizable performers, including Jay Leno, Jeff Foxworthy and Lonestar. They were recently part of Garrison Keillor’s 30th Anniversary celebration of the “A Prairie Home Companion” radio show.

At present, Tonic Sōl-Fa is touring in support of their 10th album, “March of the Kings,” a new recording in a catalog of numerous award-winning DVD and CD projects.

Tickets for the Tonic Sōl-Fa Holiday Concert are available through the PAS box office in Administration 100 by calling 660-543-8888, or online at ucmpas.com. The Tonic Sōl-Fa Holiday Concert is sponsored by KMOS-TV.
