Following a semifinal loss to Nebraska-Kearney in the MIAA Tournament, Jennies volleyball was selected to play in the NCAA’s 64-team postseason tournament.

The Jennies received an at-large bid after failing to capture the MIAA Championship and will compete in the Central Region tournament that begins Thursday. Central Missouri is the seventh seed in the eight-team regional field and is joined by two fellow MIAA teams: third-seed Washburn and top-seed Nebraska-Kearney. UNK remained the No. 3 team in the country after winning their third straight MIAA Tournament Championship.

The first matchup for the Jennies is against the region’s second seed, Minnesota Duluth. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 4 and have won seven straight matches. The match between the Jennies and Bulldogs is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Health & Sports Center in Kearney, Nebraska.
