Deputies, drug task force bust meth lab, arrest couple; charges include possession, 14 counts of forgery

GREEN RIDGE, Mo.--Two residents of this community are in the Pettis County Jail, following their arrests on drug charges.

Deputies from Johnson and Pettis counties and officers from the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force served a search warrant at 104 N. Cumberland Tuesday, and arrested Nickey T. Hargett, 35, and Shebil M. Todd, 29, both of that address.

Knob Noster woman indicted for attempted statutory rape of boy she 'met' on internet

WARRENSBURG, Mo.--A Johnson County grand jury has indicted a Knob Noster woman on charges of attempted statutory rape in the second degree.

Melissa Anne Whisenhunt, 39, of 633 Valley Hill Drive, is accused of using the internet in an attempt to get a 16-year-old boy to meet her in Centerview to have intercourse.

Police to get crowd control, diversity training

WARRENSBURG, Mo.--The Warrensburg Police Department is working in cooperation with the University of Central Missouri Department of Public Safety this summer to provide crowd control management training.

Warrensburg police Chief Bruce Howey said a couple of police officers attended crowd control management training in Quincy, Ill., last fall, and are developing a program specifically to meet local needs.

He expects that training to take place in late July or early August. The WPD and UCM Department of Public Safety also plan to participate in diversity training later this summer. University personnel will assist in training.
