New athletic trainer brings lots of professional experience

WARRENSBURG, Mo.-- There is a new face on the sidelines this year, working with Mules and Jennies athletes.

Ron Dubuque, new head athletics trainer, has been a trainer for more than 30 years at the college and professional levels.

Before arriving at UCM in August, he was the director of sports medicine at the University of Missouri–St. Louis. He also taught classes at St. Louis University and did some rehabilitation consulting with the St. Louis Rams, which he started in the summer of 2009. He then served as the athletic trainer with the Harlem Globetrotters for one season.

For 11 seasons, Dubuque was an athletic trainer with the St. Louis Rams. He has worked with some great athletes, including Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce and others.

In just the first inning, they scored three runs to get them started to a 16-5 victory over the Lady Bulldogs.

Knob Noster volleyball team looking to go back to districts

KNOB NOSTER, Mo.-- Last season, the 19-11-3 Knob Noster Lady Panther volleyball team got all the way to Districts before being knocked out by St. Mary’s High School in Independence.

Coach Jennifer Goodrich thinks the team has a shot at going to districts again.

“It’s ever body’s goal is to take conference, and then compete and take districts,” Goodrich. “And of course it is a goal for our team. Every game is a step closer.”

During the offseason, the Lady Panthers haven’t lost much, though Britney Murphy left to play softball this season.

BOLIVAR, Mo.-– Senior quarterback Eric Czerniewski broke two school passing records and led the Central Missouri Mules to a 60-13 win over Southwest Baptist here Saturday night.
