PAS presents UCM Opera Theatre production

(WARRENSBURG, Mo.) – The Performing Arts Series and Department of Music at the University of Central Missouri have combined resources to present the UCM Opera Theatre production, “Music from the Old Country,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 25-26 in Hendricks Hall. The performance is the finale of the Fanfare Series, part of the 2013-2014 PAS season.

Tickets for “Music from the Old Country” are available through the Central Tickets box office in Administration 100B, or by calling 660-543-8888 or going online at ucmpas.com. Tickets are also available one hour prior to show time.

Under the direction of regional opera star David Adams, UCM opera students will present scenes from 10 popular myths and fairy tales. Program selections include the opening scene from “Die Zauberflote” by Mozart; “Hansel and Gretel meet the Witch” from “Hansel and Gretel” by Humperdinck; “Hello Little Girl” from “Into the Woods” by Sondheim; “Nannetta’s Magic Spell” from “Falstaff” by Verdi; Acts I and II from “Puss and Boots” by Montsalvatge; and “The Enchantment of the Cook” from “The Love for Three Oranges” by Prokofiev.
