Ronald E. Dillingham

Ronald E. Dillingham, 80, of Warrensburg, died Wednesday, June 13, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Celebration of life services will be 7 p.m. Friday, June 22, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg, with Pastor Pat Bryson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until service time, Friday at the funeral home.

Ron was born Jan. 27, 1938, in Warrensburg, son of Emory E. and Thelma L. (Ross) Dillingham. He graduated from College High School in Warrensburg. Ron was united in marriage to Ruth Ellen Riley on April 28, 1957, in Sedalia, Missouri.

The couple resided briefly in Wichita, Kansas, prior to living in Raytown, Missouri, for nearly 20 years. During the couple’s time in Raytown, Ron was employed at Sears. They eventually returned to Warrensburg, and Ron farmed.

The couple also owned and operated Dillingham Furs and Clear Fork Hunting Preserve for several years. Ron served County Commissioner for the Eastern District for six years. He also was an avid outdoors-man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ron was a member of Pleasant Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth of the home; two daughters, Linda Collins of Warrensburg and Sheryl (Dale) Hull of Montrose; two sisters, Gloria (Bill) Criss of Warrensburg and Barbara Hartford of Warrensburg; brother, Larry (Lois) Dillingham of Warrensburg; eight grandchildren, Douglas Smith of Warrensburg, Nicholas (Rena) Smith of Warrensburg, Jacob (Kim) Smith of Warrensburg, Kevin Payne of Warrensburg, Carla Macklin of Winfield, Kansas; Joseph Hull of Clinton, Julie Hull of Columbia and Caleb Hull of Montrose; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Contributions are suggested to Crossroads Hospice in care of the funeral home.
