State of Emergency ends tomorrow

The State of Emergency that was implemented on Tuesday, Feb. 26 will end Tuesday, March 5 at 10:30 am. City resources including funds, equipment and personnel are still being used in the recovery phase of our local emergency.

Roofs are still of great concern. The back-to-back winter snow storms created heavy snow loads that bring the potential for a roof collapse. Owners are cautioned to listen to creaks and groans. Minimize the risk of roof collapse by having the snow removed in a safe manner. If an owner attempts to clear the roof of snow, use extreme caution.

At this point, snow crews cannot push snow piles back any farther at intersections as it will block hydrants and sidewalks. Drivers should go slow and be careful at intersections.
