UCM student dies in single-car accident

(JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo., digitalBURG) – A University of Central Missouri fashion student died in a one-car accident Sunday.

Natalie Ann Niavarani, 23, of Overland Park, Kan., died at Research Medical Center in Kansas on Monday after the accident, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

The accident occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. Sunday about 20 miles west of Warrensburg near Powell Gardens. Niavarani was driving westbound on U.S. 50 when she went off the right side of the road near 1601 Road and struck several trees.

She was taken to the hospital by Johnson County Ambulance District personnel where she died. She was wearing a seatbelt, and she was the only occupant in the car, according to Highway Patrol reports.

Niavarani was a junior at UCM, majoring in fashion design. She was the current president of the Fashion Club at the university, according to her obituary.

A celebration of Natalie’s life will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St. in Independence, Mo. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. before the service at the chapel.
